Keg Cool Rooms

  • 71a

Keg beer is best preserved when stored in a cool room and because beer is a food product it will remain in better condition for a longer period when stored in a refrigerated environment. Cool rooms are generally made from 100mm thick insulated panels fastened together to form a fully insulated environment and vapour barrier. Using insulated floors in cool rooms will add further refrigeration and energy consumption efficiencies over the life of the cool room.

  • 73aCool rooms are custom built and sized but in most instances are generally built using multiples of the standard 1200mm wide x 2400 high cool room panel. Cool rooms can be customised to outlet specific dimensions and fitted with pass through cabinet options allowing refrigerated beverage products to be displayed and sold directly from the pass through cabinet. Keg cool rooms should always have defrost equipment fitted to ensure the refrigeration condenser remains free of ice at all times.

  • 39aThere are several types of factory manufactured cool rooms available that are designed as kit set, inter locking panel cool rooms. This type of cool room can be assembled on site and then disassembled at a later date and reassembled at a new location. Kit set cool rooms use thinner more densely insulated foam panels than standard cool room panels making the panels easier to manage and position when assembling. Kit set cool rooms are generally more difficult to customise because the panels are factory finished and sealed when manufactured.

Keg Cabinets

Small refrigerated keg cabinets can also be used where there is minimal space to build a full sized keg cool room in an outlet. Keg cabinets offer the same preservation benefits as a keg cool room but are only big enough to store several kegs for dispensing and several spare backup kegs enabling them to be pre-chilled before tapping at a later date.

Food Cool Rooms & Freezers

BevTech Solutions can also supply and install food and freezer cool rooms for hospitality food operations. Food cool roooms differ from keg cool rooms in that they generally run at a higher temperature which ensures the stored food products are not spoiled by over chilling. Freezer rooms generally run at a much lower temperature than keg cool rooms and in some instances use thicker insulated cool room panels to improve refrigeration efficiencies and performance.

Cool Room Shelving

  • 74aThere are many choices available in the market for keg cool room, food cool room and store room shelving depending on the specific application. Many outlets have limited space for inventory storage and tend to use hospitality specific shelving to optimise space in keg and food cool rooms and other back of business areas to keep backup stock close at hand.

  • Most forms of shelving are of kit set construction and therefore are very flexible in application for specific spaces and area sizing. The shelving can easily be moved for location adaptability and for hygiene and cleaning purposes.
