35aEquipment Types & Material

  • BevTech Solutions supply and install all types of equipment needed to operate a beer dispense system of any size or specification. Many components are high specification plastic and are designed as push lock type fittings which makes many parts quick and easy to remove and replace. Many other parts are manufactured in stainless steel or chrome plated brass ensuring most equipment used is non corroding in damp environments or when exposed to cleaning chemicals. Most beer dispense system parts and equipment are specifically designed for beer dispense systems and are only available from specialised manufacturers and suppliers.

30Cool Room Equipment

  • Keg cool rooms house the majority of the significant beer dispense system reticulation equipment with the cool room walls being utilised to mount the various types of equipment near the stored kegs i.e. keg couplers to tap the kegs, fob detectors to isolate the beer flow when a keg has emptied, beer pumps to pump the beer through the reticulation system, beer manifolds to direct beer to the various beer taps, cleaing sockets for beer line cleaning, gas valves to isolate the gas supply to specific areas, glycol chilled water units and plastic box extrusion to bundle multiple beer lines into position. The keg cool room is an ideal loaction to mount beer dispense system equipment because the location is reasonably secure and ensures that reticualtion equipment is loacted in or around the actual bar service area.

36aBeer Lines

  • Beer line routes consist of either a loose cluster beer lines run through hard insulated ducting or a factory made beer python cluster which run from the cool room through to the bar and point of dispense areas. Both hard ducting and beer python are efficiently insulated to minimise heat ingress and refrigeration leakage which is essential in ensuring that stationary beer is not compromised through unnecessary warming. All other route sections and risers containing beer lines are insulated and sealed to maintain the integrity of the reticulation system performance throughout the outlet.

172aGas System

  • All beer dispense systems require a pressurised gas system to maintain the correct carbonation levels of the beer and to maintain a predetermined head pressure on the kegged beer to ensure that C02 contained in solution does not break out of solution before the beer is dispensed from the beer tap. The gas system will in most instances contain 1 high pressure regulator and depending on the size of the beer system several low pressure regualtors. The high pressure regulator will govern the source CO2 pressure down to a level where the low pressure regulators can set and maintain the correct operating pressures for the beer dispense system.

190Gycol Chilled Water Systems

  • Glycol chilled water systems are sized according to the refrigeration load imposed by several refrigerated components of a beer dispense reticulation system. Important factors that affect glycol chilled water unit sizing are, length of the beer line route from keg cool room to the point of dispense and the number and type of beer towers included in the beer dispense system. The refrigeration component of a glycol chilled water system can be either remote or integral depending on space requirements and quality of ventilation.

  • The gycol system pump is an important system component which affects the overall performance of the glycol chilled water system. The pump needs to have the capability to be able to pump a viscous fluid around long circuit routes with vertical elevation contributing to pressure drop in many instances. Pumps, like refrigeration capacity have to be sized correctly when specifying a suitable glycol chilled water system for any unique beer dispense system installation.

  • When designing high demand beer dispense systems with long circuit routes an aluminium inline chiller plate can be used in conjunction with glycol chilled water system to add more refrigeration capability to maintain dynamic beer temperature. Aluminium chiller plates flash chill beer by acting as a heat sink as the beer is passed through stainless coils set inside the aluminium chiller plate. Chiller plates are particularly effective in excessively warm climates when traditional refrigeration applications are not adequate for the prevailing climatic conditions.
