International & NZ Designed Beer Towers

There are many different internationally and New Zealand designed and manufactured styles of beer towers available in the New Zealand market place. Generally beer towers are configured as a single tap stand alone tower or multiple tap stand alone tower and in most instances both types are mounted through the bar top. Iridium beer taps are supplied with beer towers and are standard throughout the New Zealand market unless in some instances European beer towers are supplied complete with a European beer taps. Like beer tower styles there are many different finishes available for beer towers ranging from various chrome or plated colours through to high polished and satin finishes. Beer towers are usually manufactured in stainless steel, ceramic or brass although some are produced in wood and composits for specific purposes and designs.

Generally more expensive custom designed and manufactured beer towers are produced for concept and themed bars generallly to an architechs or designers specification and look. The tower design will often be incorporated into the overall concept and theme of the bar as will the type of beer brands and beverages available for sale in the outlet.

Beer towers with a frozen exterior surface capability are available in several variations and are popular in warmer climates. Frozen beer towers achieve the frozen look by being manufactured with the ability to have their inner cavity flooded with refrigerated Glycol which then refrigerates the tower to the point where Ice forms on the exterior surface. The refrigeration and energy requirement to achieve exterior ice build up is significantly higher than for a similar dry tower and the efficiency of the refrigeration and local climate determines the level of ice build up.

All standard beer tower installations will have a size matched drip tray mounted below the beer taps on the bar top to catch and drain wastage, residual spillage and post dispense tap drip. Drip trays are made of folded, high polished stainless steel and are drained to sink waste or into a bucket located below the bar.

Drip Trays are available in various standard configurations and sizes along with customised designs for special beer tower installation applications. Drip trays can be recessed into the bar top or sit proud of the bar top in a plinth style.

Drip trays are available to cover the beer spillage area only with the beer towers being mounted directly on the bar top or alternatively a full area drip tray can be used where the beer tower is also mounted on the drip tray making the bar top more resistant to moisture ingress and the dispense area more hygienic and easier to clean.
Recessed or bar top drip trays are available with a glass rinser option. The glass rinser option is designed to rinse and cool the glass with fresh water before the beer dispensing process begins. Glass rinser units use filtered, chilled water to ensure the glass is not contaminated with dust or residue before the beer dispensing process begins.
